Was it easy for you to switch to commission only?
I was a partner in a company that I helped to make into a profitable business. I sold and managed hundreds of jobs. The owner sold the business to retire, and I am looking for a commission sales position because I can sell. I sent my resume with my extensive experience to a company that claims to empower woman 🙄 and heard nothing back. I hope I find a sales position with their competitor just because. 😂
This is sold advice!
commission sales is a scam you work they pay dont be a slave to the company
I don't think you should ever give up security! Stability, sure. Growth is the antithesis of stability.
If you're only spending $4.20 on food per day, you better not be smoking weed 😁
I really needed this! I'm in my second year of real estate and after a good first year, it's not going great this year. I've had more contracts fall apart than close and it HURTS to get to the end of a deal after working weeks or months and not make any money. It's really impacting my mental health and I'm working on shifting my mindset.
I knocked for 3 months with no luck and finally over the past month I signed 238k and I’m now at 350k for the year hoping to end at a million in my first year selling 💪🏼
I’ll tell you why this can hurt you… an insurance claim will take 3 months to go through. (You getting paid). But you will be knocking 200 doors per day. These companies know you will quit long before you get paid. They don’t want to share the commissions with you. That’s why they hire anyone with a pulse. It’s a numbers game… for
Them. And the casino always wins.
GREAT video Adam! Managing finances is such a crucial part of just living.
Adding a couple of notes:
– If you're 1099, make sure you're playing your taxes Quarterly to avoid an IRS penalty. Have a trusted CPA help you set this up. It can save you thousands!
– SAVE at least 25% of your income for Taxes, 10% for your business Revenue
– When you receive your checks, don't spend it all right away. Stock pile as much as you can in a high yield checking account and then "pay yourself" a salary based on your own living expectations.
Please add in anything I missed. You Rock Adam!
Thank you so much Adam, your book and content have really been my compass while being "out at sea" with no experience. I've been working on my sales pitch everyday and slowly getting better. I've sold a few roofs but my closing rate isn't where it needs to be, there's always room for improvement. Thank you for all that you do.
I just filed my first claim today! After hundreds of people said "no" I was starting to lose hope but I just kept pushing and it finally happened. Thank you Adam, I've been watching your videos religiously up until my first claim. ❤

Took the leap of faith from leaving my “comfy” salary insurance sales job to being a 1099 roofing sales rep in 2022. The first 7 months were awful and the credit cards were maxed out. Then, I started collecting paychecks from completed builds. In a matter of two months, I made my entire year’s salary of my last job from roofing sales. Now, I’ve been able to make life changing money and am going to be starting my own company soon! When in doubt, bet on yourself and continue to learn!
A question that comes up a bit. I hire on as 1099 contractor. We have 2-4 sales meetings for the week. Does that change with the crackdown on being W-2 instead of 1099.
